The Executive Council (EC) is the executive and management body of the Association. Council Members are elected in accordance with the voting rules established by the General Assembly. The EC comprises of nine Councillors, including the President, Immediate Past President, Secretary General and Treasurer. In the exercise of its functions, the Council represents the Association. The office of the Councillor is honorary and is exercised in a personal capacity on behalf of the whole membership, rather than as the representative of a particular archive, country or constituency.
During the 21st General Assembly of SEAPAVAA held on 7 April 2017, at Manila, Philippines, a new set of Executive Council was elected to serve from 2017 until 2020.
