Dear Colleagues:
As previously announced, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the UNESCO Memory of the World Program, UNESCO, in collaboration with the School of Library, Archival and Information Studies and the University Library of the University of British Columbia, and in partnership with ICA, IFLA, IASA, ICOM, WIPO, Google, MIcrosoft and others, is holding an international conference on “The Memory of the World in the Digital Age: Digitization and Preservation” on September 26-28, 2012 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
We have received an overwhelming number of high quality submissions and we are working very hard to build a truly memorable program (no pan intended). The program will be ready around mid-April, but registration is already open. The registration to the event is free. However, it is required in order to plan the logistics, meals, etc. Also, UNESCO cannot accommodate an infinite number of registrants, and has decided to close registration at #750. Therefore, if you wish to attend this conference, we advise you to register early.
The on-line registration on the UNESCO website is open. To register go to http://www.unesco-ci.org/cmscore/civicrm/event/register?reset=1&id=10.
Looking forward to having you with us,
Luciana Duranti and Jonas Palm
