ARSC’s 56th Annual Conference and Pre-Conference Workshop

The Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) is pleased to host its 56th Annual Conference and Pre-Conference Workshop virtually in Hubilo.

ARSCĀ ConferenceĀ SessionsĀ will be held on 19 – 21 May 2022, generally beginning at 11:00 AM and ending at 9:00 PM EDT. Start and end times vary; please consult theĀ ARSC Conference ProgramĀ for details.

ARSC’sĀ Pre-ConferenceĀ Workshop, titled “So You’ve Got Some Cassettes / So You’ve Got Some Wires” and ā€œSo You Wanna Play Some Cassettes / So You Wanna Play Some Wires: Reformatting and Preservationā€ will be presented in two sessions on 17 and 18 May 2022.

Workshop Session I (17 May 2022, 12:00 NN – 5:00 PM EDT) will focus on best practices for assessment of wires and cassettes. Workshop Session II (18 May, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM EDT) will introduce techniques for preserving and reformatting these formats.

Separate registration is required and covers both workshop sessions. Please complete registration for the workshops no later than 10 May 2022. Registrants may opt to receive a sample of cassettes by mail for an additional fee. Consult theĀ ARSC Conference ProgramĀ for details.

The virtual conference will include live presentations in the Hubilo conference platform and recorded presentations made available for on-demand viewing inĀ ARSC’s Aviary Site. Video recordings of conference sessions and workshops will remain available on Hubilo to registrants for 30 days following the conference. Thereafter, they will be available to ARSC members only.
