2023 FIAF Congress: Highlighting Women Pioneers

The International (FIAF) Congress 2023 symposium on “Women, Cinema, and Film Archives”, seeks to celebrate the legacy of women in the film archive’s history and their role in developing its future. As part of its activities, the symposium will recognise those who have been at the forefront of archival practice worldwide, sharing their stories, and highlighting their achievements and inheritance.

FIAF is calling for submissions for short biographies of female colleagues who have contributed to the preservation of film heritage through their stories in the course of film archives for the 2023 FIAF Congress.

If interested, kindly send an email to simposium2023@filmoteca.unam.mx with the following:

  • brief 200 word professional biography that highlights their contributions and the challenges they faced
  • three high-resolution portrait images with credits (preferably those that capture them in the exercise of their practices)

FIAF will print and publish the biographies on the 2023 Congress website. Deadline of submission is on 17 February 2023.
