Theme: Creating, Funding, Protecting a Digital Archive

The Sixteenth Conference and General Assembly of the South East Asia-Pacific Audio Visual Archive Association (SEAPAVAA) was held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from 16 to 21 April 2012.
With the theme, “Creating, Funding, Protecting a Digital Archive,” the 16th SEAPAVAA Conference delves into the concerns and challenges faced by archives today as we respond to rapid developments in digital preservation technology.
The SEAPAVAA Conference in Ho Chi Minh City consisted of a two-day symposium on 17-18 April 2012 hosted by the Vietnam Film Institute. It also had the special Restoration Asia session dedicated to introducing the restoration work done by archives and companies in the Asian region. The conference has host of events including as well roundtable discussions, a one-day workshop, archival gem screenings, institutional visits, and a retreat-excursion. The General Assembly of SEAPAVAA was held on 16 April 2012, before the start of the Conference.
