Theme: Moving AV Archives Forward
SEAPAVAA, with the support of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), held its 26th Conference virtually from 19th – 21st July 2022. The conference theme was “Moving AV Archives Forward”.
The conference programme included a one-day symposium session, a full day of focus group meetings, a conclusion panel, and a virtual networking session. Over 199 participants from 45 countries came together to discuss challenges and solutions with their counterparts who worked within similar environments: broadcasting (TV/radio), film, and heritage-based institutions (e.g., museums, libraries, galleries, etc.). The keynote lecture “DigitalPasifik.org – Reflections on Designing and Delivering a Bridge between Worlds” was delivered by Tim Kong, Director of the Digital Experience at National Library New Zealand.
The 26th Conference included a virtual archival gems screening where SEAPAVAA members contributed archival gems for viewing on SEAPAVAA’s Facebook. Recordings of the symposium sessions and conclusion panel are available on SEAPAVAA’s Facebook page and YouTube channel.
SEAPAVAA held its online General Assembly from 2nd – 31st May 2022, including a two–hour live discussion session via Zoom platform on 12th May 2022.
