The International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT/IFTA) will be holding their 2009 World Congress in Beijing on October 22-26 hosted by the China Central Television (CCTV). With the theme “A New World – A New Deal for Archives,” the Congress aims to discuss and find means for archives to grasp the opportunity to turn themselves into a sustainable asset for the Media Community amidst economic difficulties today.
SEAPAVAA will be holding a session at the Congress tentatively scheduled on the 25th of October from 2:00 to 5:00pm. Council member Adrian Wood and Secretary-General Tan Bee Thiam will be there to represent the Association and facilitate the session.
We highly encourage everyone to attend the congress, specifically our television and broadcasting members, and join Adrian and Bee Thiam as speakers in the session as well. For more information regarding this joint session feel free to contact the SEAPAVAA Secretariat or Adrian Wood [adrianjwood@aol.com].
Registration and call for congress papers are on going. Registration fees for SEAPAVAA Members who are not FIAT-IFTA Members will be announced shortly. For more information, visit their website at http://www.fiatifta.org/cont/conferences_next.aspx .
